HTC Rocks The Boat With 2 New i-Killers

HTC already had an i-Killer in their Touch and the much better HTC Touch Diamond. They even took it one step further with the Touch Pro and its slide out QWERTY keypad . It doesn't seem though like that was enough. Their latest offering is a handset that’s yet to make an official scene in some way, and all we have right now are a few candid images of the same. Reports say that the handset in question, is being referred to as the HTC Touch HD. In case you’re wondering, the HD stands for High Def and the reason it carries that tag is because of the screen resolution that is supposed to support a 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Yup, WVGA. The handset runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and comes equipped with a Qualcomm 7201A processor (@ 528MHz) with 512MB ROM and256 MB RAM (+32MB on processor). The same reports state that the Touch HD will be equipped with GPS, a 5MP camera with no flash though, microSD card support for extra memory and a 3.5mm earphone socket. According to some of ...

iPhones hot even in places Apple has yet to reach

MOSCOW - In the Soviet days, Russians asked their American friends to bring blue jeans, rock records and other Western goods into the country. Today Russians can buy almost anything they want here — but they are still begging for one item: Apple Inc.'s slick iPhone. The new iPhone went on sale in 21 countries July 11 and will soon be released in 70 nations. Officially, Russia and China are still on hold — neither last year's original iPhone nor the updated model have been launched in those countries because Apple is still negotiating with mobile service providers. And yet analysts estimate that only the U.S. has more iPhone users than Russia and China. In both countries, the device enjoys super-exclusive status, thanks to a thriving market for "unlocked" iPhones adapted for local use. Even Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has been seen using one. Moscow and Beijing have become an iPhone trader's paradise. Russian Web sites were offering the new 3G iPhone for abou...

Nokia Tube Makes its Movie Debut

I was never skeptical when I first heard that Nokia decided to compete with Apple and jumped on the i-Killer bandwagon. But the Tube or rather the 5800 XpressMedia is making its mark all over the place. From videos on YouTube showcasing Nokia’s Touch Sensitive UI in ads and new technologies coming up to blockbuster movies the Tube is making the scene. It looks like we could expect it anytime soon. My fingers are crossed. As a bit of a spoiler, which might I add, you’ll get a chance to see a live working model of the Tube in the new Batman movie the Dark Knight and believe you me, though I seriously doubt the handset is capable of what they show, it still looks quite good.

People line up early for Apple's new iPhone

NEW YORK - Apple Inc.'s new iPhone went on sale Friday to eager buyers worldwide, many of whom lined up for hours for the morning launch. At the flagship Apple store on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue, a line of hundreds encircled the block ahead of the 8 a.m. opening. Many of them were already owners of the first iPhone, suggesting that Apple is preaching to the choir with the new model, which updates the one launched a year ago by speeding up Internet access and adding a navigation chip. Thanks to subsidies by the carrier, the price has also been cut substantially to $199 for the cheapest model in the United States. Alex Cavallo, 24, was in line at the Fifth Avenue store, just as he had been a year ago for the original iPhone. He sold that one recently on eBay in anticipation of the new one. In the meantime, he has been using another phone, which felt "uncomfortable." "The iPhone is just a superior user experience," he said. The phone also proved a decent invest...
