Evidence from the Life of Jesus

Evidence from the Life of Jesus who is Jesus ? First, His moral character coincided with His claims. Many asylum inmates claim to be celebrities or deities. But their claims are belied by their characters. Not so with Christ. He is unique--as unique as God. Jesus Christ was sinless . The caliber of His life was such that He was able to challenge His enemies with the question, "Can any of you prove Me guilty of sin?" (John 8:46). He was met by silence, even though He addressed those who would have liked to point out a flaw in His character. We read of the temptations of Jesus, but we never hear of a confession of sin on His part. He never asked for forgiveness, though He told His followers to do so. This lack of any sense of moral failure on Jesus' part is astonishing in view of the fact that it is completely contrary to the experience of the saints and mystics in all ages. The closer men and women draw to God, the more overwhelmed they are with their own failure, corrupt

THE FIVE PRECEPTS

All religions have some basic rules that define what is good conduct and what kind of conduct should be avoided. In Buddhism, the most important rules are the Five Precepts. These have been passed down from the Buddha himself. 1. No killing Respect for life 2. No stealing Respect for others' property 3. No sexual misconduct Respect for our pure nature 4. No lying Respect for honesty 5. No intoxicants Respect for a clear mind The Buddha said, "Life is dear to all beings . They have the right to live the same as we do." We should respect all life and not kill anything. Killing ants and mosquitoes is also breaking this precept. We should have an attitude of loving-kindness towards all beings, wishing them to be happy and free from harm. Taking care of the earth, its rivers and air is included. One way that many Buddhists follow this precept is by being vegetarian. No stealing If we steal from another, we steal from ourselves. Instead, we should learn to give and take care of

BASIC TEACHINGS OF THE BUDDHA

One day, the Buddha sat down in the shade of a tree and noticed how beautiful the countryside was. Flowers were blooming and trees were putting on bright new leaves, but among all this beauty, he saw much unhappiness. A farmer beat his ox in the field. A bird pecked at an earthworm, and then an eagle swooped down on the bird. Deeply troubled, he asked, " Why does the farmer beat his ox? Why must one creature eat another to live?" During his enlightenment, the Buddha found the answer to these questions. He discovered three great truths. He explained these truths in a simple way so that everyone could understand them. 1. Nothing is lost in the universe The first truth is that nothing is lost in the universe. Matter turns into energy, energy turns into matter. A dead leaf turns into soil. A seed sprouts and becomes a new plant. Old solar systems disintegrate and turn into cosmic rays. We are born of our parents, our children are born of us. We are the same as plants, as trees,

CHRISTIANITY

The term Christianity may denote the whole of knowledge imparted by the Creator to incarnate people — during the entire history of human existence on the Earth — through His Messengers, Who are called in different languages by the names Messiah, Christ, Avatar. However, historically it happened so that this term denotes the Teachings about the Path to Perfection, which were given to us by Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, the Teachings of Jesus were many times reduced and perverted due to people’s ignorance, and quite often were turned from Christianity — into anti-Christianity, though called by the same name. The examples of this are: the “Holy” Inquisition; the Crusades and other kinds of predatory wars launched by “Christian” countries; instilling of hatred, aggression, incredible cruelty toward “infidels” — under the banner of “fighting for the ‘holy’ faith”… That is why the true Teachings of Jesus Christ have to be distinguished from some beliefs which are called sometimes “the true

THE GOLDEN RULE

The Golden Rule: "In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets." Matthew 7:12 By applying the Golden Rule to the parent/child relationship, it becomes clear that it means to try to understand and respect the child's feelings, "putting yourself in her shoes." Children are new to the world, and have special needs for protection and care. We adults typically forget what it's like to be small and weak, and dependent on others for what we need. The world can seem hostile and strange to a young one. How good to have the tender love and care of someone capable, understanding and empathetic! Following the Golden Rule means we can treat our child the way we would wish to be treated, if we were children again. The Beatitudes contain much material we can apply to the parent/child relationship. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4 When babies and children cry, they are expr

jesus my saviour

In Me is real Life ... Jesus said:“Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”“ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ” One Solitary Life He was born in an obscure Middle Eastern village, the child of a young peasant woman. He grew up in another obscure village, where He worked in a carpentry shop until He was thirty. Then, for three years He was an itinerant preacher, travelling from place to place healing people and doing good wherever He went.He never had a family and never owned a house. He never wrote a book, or held a public office. He never traveled more than two hundred miles from the place He was born. He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness. While He was still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against Him

Jesus The Saviour

Sanctification: Jesus cleanses all our darkness Jesus is our Saviour because he sanctifies us. Our "sanctification" or "holiness" means being made holy and clean when we were unholy and unclean in God's sight. But there is only one thing that can cleanse us: "The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1Jn 1:7). This statement is made in this context: "God is light and in him there is no darkness at all" (1Jn 1:5). If there is any darkness in us, we cannot have fellowship with God. Jesus "sanctifies" us and purges all our darkness away so that we are only light. We are "sanctified" or "made holy". Redemption: Jesus paid the price of our escapeJesus is our Saviour because he redeems us. Our "redemption" is understood when we look back at our ruined lives all marred by sin. We can see that we no longer belonged to God, but to Satan. We must say with Paul, "I am carnal, sold under sin"
